Evolution of the Mulberry Tree

The images follow the evolution of Mulberry's namesake from the very early tree beside the railroad tracks to the tree as many of us '56ers remember her. She died in the early 60's and was removed. Some of the wood, however, was retained by the City for later use on plaques, commemoratives, etc.
The following image was taken looking North on Hwy. 37 (Church Street) and you can see part of the old, original Mulberry High School to the right. The ice plant was to the left. The site of the school is now Mulberry City Hall.

The old depot now houses the Mulberry Phosphate Museum.

Mystery Camper

Who is the boy in the top bunk and why is he smiling? Guess who and where and you'll win something special. (Picture was taken by Ronnie Dubois and provided to this site by Benny Dubois, via Jerry Miller. Not sure who boy in bottom bunk was.)
